A Zhongchi DC charging pile, when integrated with Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and smart charging systems, transforms from a simple power dispenser into a dynamic grid asset. At its core, the charging pile is equipped with bidirectional power conversion technology, allowing it to both charge an electric vehicle's battery and draw energy from it back to the grid.


When connected to a V2G-capable EV, the charging pile communicates with the vehicle's Battery Management System (BMS) to monitor the battery's state of charge, health, and temperature. Based on real-time signals from a smart grid or an aggregator platform, the pile can automatically switch modes. During periods of low electricity demand or high renewable energy production, it charges the vehicle at optimal, low-cost rates. Conversely, during peak grid demand, the system can reverse the flow, using the EV's stored energy to supply power back to the grid, providing critical grid-balancing services.
