As the electricity ancillary service market gradually opens up to small and medium-sized energy storage systems, Zhongchi Group has recently completed a software upgrade for some of its in-grid industrial and commercial energy storage systems, enabling them to meet the technical conditions for participating in demand response.
The company noted that this functionality is still in a small-scale testing phase, with short single response durations and limited subsidy amounts, advising users not to consider this as their primary source of revenue.
Concurrently, Zhongchi Group has launched a firmware upgrade service for existing charging pile users. After the upgrade, both AC and DC charging piles support more accurate charging curve recording and load coordination functionality. When multiple DC charging piles are charging simultaneously at high power and exceed the transformer capacity, the system can automatically reduce the charging power of some piles to prevent tripping.
The company's technical head stated that the key focus areas for the next two years are to improve the remote operation and maintenance capabilities of existing equipment and enhance the compatibility of charging piles with battery management systems from different brands.
